牛宅村名的故事

font-size: medium; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); line-height: 1.9; text-align: justify; text-indent: 32px; text-wrap-mode: wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">海口牛宅旧称“龙泽”,名字的由来要从一座山说起。牛宅村南面有一座山，因山巅突出一峰，状如一口倒扣的锅，古称锅为“釜”,故名覆釜山。宋嘉定八年(1215年),在覆釜山东麓建有一座东岳行宫，规模恢宏，庙宇有99间，且相传显圣威灵，名声大于山，故当地人以东岳取代覆釜，称之为东岳山。清嘉庆九年(1804年),东岳行宫被火烧毁，东岳山的名字一直叫到现在。</p><p class="no-text-indent" style="margin-top: 0px; font-size: medium; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); line-height: 1.9; text-align: justify; text-indent: 32px; text-wrap-mode: wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">东岳山是海口镇最高的一座山峰。关于东岳山，自古流传下来一则气象谚语：“东岳山戴帽，三天内有雨。”古人究其原因，便有了一个龙的传说：很久以前，五海龙王相约上天，在南天门聚首，一起去朝拜玉皇大帝。且说那时沿海地区常闹旱，每每有祈雨之事劳驾龙王爷。而龙王爷也有苦衷，并非随心所欲地行云布雨，须请示玉皇大帝，所以每年都要提前上天打点。</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); line-height: 1.9; text-align: justify; text-indent: 32px; text-wrap-mode: wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">却说东海龙王敖广年轻贪玩，上天时，路过牛宅西南面的弥勒岩，被这里的湖光山色所迷，把上天朝拜玉帝之事丢到爪哇国去了。玉帝看到大家都来了，唯独不见东海龙王，便遣千里眼和顺风耳前去打探。两位天神打探回来，如实向玉帝报告。玉帝大怒，掷下一个酒盅，变作一座山，即覆釜山，把敖广上天的通牒压在山下，让其从此不能行动自如。敖广不服，以泄露天机表示抗议。每当玉帝授意布雨，他便提前在东岳山头显示天象，以昭凡间百姓。百姓为了感恩东海龙王，便在山上建了东海龙王行宫，称之东岳庙。</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; text-indent: 32px; text-wrap-mode: wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">却说，这个小岛的东南方约一里，有一个以卢、曹二姓为主的自然村叫后曹村。这个村三面临海，柴薪奇缺，放牧无处。所以每逢海水落潮，村里人就从滩涂跋涉上岛，砍来柴薪或放牧牛羊。然而，潮汐随着日月变换，遇着白天涨潮，水断人路，人们就无法徒步上岛。当年有船的人家不多，而且涨潮时，船只都出海作业，小舢板也仅有几只。那时民风敦厚，助人为乐视为美德，搭个便舟上岛不会有太大的问题，问题是牛大体重，小舟不堪负载，人可乘舟上岛，牛就不方便了，所以有牛的人家便在岛上搭盖牛棚，供牛过夜，克服舟楫不便。久而久之，邻村有牛人家纷纷仿效，岛上一片牛棚。这个小岛原本无名，自从有了这个景观，人们随意称之“牛宅”。</p><p style="margin-top: 0px;
