padding: 0px; outline: 0px; max-width: 100%; box-sizing: border-box; overflow-wrap: break-word !important; font-size: 14px;">天启四年（1624）农历七月初七，叶向高移居到福清会馆，在此之前，他已连续三年先后上疏67道，请求退休归乡。熹宗皇帝见苦相挽留未果，最终只得“勉从所请”。为褒扬叶向高功绩，熹宗两次“加恩”：一加太傅，二加上柱国。叶向高在《苍霞草全集》中，记录了当年熹宗褒奖的理由，除了“庆陵工成蒙恩”，特别指出叶向高“三朝元辅，数载勤劳”“德望忠劳，晋秩三事”“躬忠勤茂著，中外具瞻”，因此“用示酬嘉”“用酬忠勚”。</span></p><p style="margin-top: 10px; overflow-wrap: break-word !important; font-size: 14px;">对熹宗的这两项加恩，叶向高在圣旨称“俱有成命，只受勿辞”情况下，马上上疏致谢和上御门面见皇帝，坚辞加恩，“连章控陈，情词愈恳”。一周之后，终于得到熹宗收回成命，免去所授予的太傅职位；而对于上柱国的荣誉，熹宗认为“陵工加恩，出自彜典，宜即祗受，不必辞”。天子之命难违，叶向高终于只好接受上柱国之职，于当年农历十一月二十一日抵达福清故里。</span></p><section style="margin: 10px 0px; font-size: 14px;">至于坚辞“太傅”之职，正如叶向高在疏言中所说，“若太傅位列三公，国朝二百余年，文臣无敢居此职者，固己万无受理矣”。熹宗恩加给文官叶向高的“太傅”职位，自明朝开国200多年来前所未有，之高之贵，甚是荣极，但是叶向高不为所痴，矢志守正，疏辞再三，让我们看到了叶向高的淡泊名利，忧国为民，“以民之心为心，以民之利为利”（叶向高语），“尤忠在国本”（崇祯皇帝谥文）。反观当下部分从政者跑官要官、卖官鬻爵之丑陋，如粪土一堆不齿人世，更显叶向高之难能可贵。</span></p></section><section powered-by="xiumi.us" style="margin: 10px 0px 0px;
